In the River -- Sutton AK
Are you hungry to hear from God?
Do you want to be with a community of believers pursuing God and seeking to discern His guidance?
Have you wanted to know more about what the Bible says about prophetic words? Have you wanted to discern these honestly in a corporate setting?
How do we follow the admonition in I Cor. 14:1 “Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.”
Is this admonition only for the especially gifted?
Can we ordinary folk participate? Would the Bible ask us to earnestly desire something meant only for a few? How important are prophetic words anyway?
What are the guidelines for giving and receiving prophetic words corporately? What is our authority when this leads us into high-level spiritual warfare? How do we know if this is real?
At this 3rd Advanced Prayer event, we will address these questions and more as we focus on building a firm biblical and theological foundation for receiving guidance from God, for prophesy and discerning prophetic words, and for dynamic prayer engagements in corporate settings.
Just as in the previous 2 prayer courses, Kingdom Prayer and Ascend the Mount, following the Spirit will be vital. The plan is to allow plenty of time for prayer and discernment.
We will also continue to be intentionally seeking to learn together the principles and practice of corporate prayer.
“In the River” is not an invitation to just retreat and recharge, though every retreat provides that opportunity. This retreat is an invitation to move more intentionally into the flow of what God is doing both in our lives personally and in our lives corporately in Alaska and in the world. As we do so, we glorify God by abiding in Him and allowing Him to manifest His presence through us to others.

Rev. Martin Boardman
I’m an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the Christian Reformed Church and pastored in Southern Alberta for eight years before the Lord opened the door in January 2017 to become Dunamis Fellowship Canada’s Prayer Mobilizer working closely with PRMI.
Dunamis answered the questions that I had about the Holy Spirit. It explained some of my life experiences had in a systematic and Biblical way and opened the door to drawing closer in intimacy with the Lord. I'm still putting in to practice some of the suggestions which were shared during that time.
As a result of my involvement in these Dunamis Weekends I became more involved with the work of PRMI and was a part of the founding board for Dunamis Fellowship Canada.
Rev. M. J. Quick
MJ has pastored in Anchorage Alaska with his wife Maria and two children Alexis and Gabby since 1999.
He is currently pastoring at Jewel Lake Church of the Nazarene where he has been since 2013.
Before that he planted a church on the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) campus and was there for 10 years. He was born and raised in Soldotna, a small south-central Alaskan town where his parents still live.
He is passionate about Harley Davidson Motorcycles and spends much of his spare time (when the roads are not covered in ice) riding his Harley all over Alaska and the Yukon."
I attended my first Dunamis Project retreat in 1994 in Alaska where I was immediately deeply engaged with the teaching that answered my need to have a scriptural basis for experiences I had had with the Holy Spirit.
It was such a refreshing time for me. The years of solid evangelical Bible teaching from my church on one hand, and my exciting experiences in charismatic circles on the other hand, all came together in an integrated way, providing me with a scriptural and theological grid to move forward with God.
In the years since, I have found PRMI retreats and the Dunamis community an environment suited for both challenging growth and loving support in learning to walk with God in ministry.
